Terms of sale for books

These terms apply to ordering books through maartenvanderweijden.nl. They are short and written in plain language. In case of doubt, the Dutch version applies. Questions: email maarten@beter.nu.

Offer and prices

• All prices are in euros and include 9% VAT.
• Shipping within the Netherlands and Belgium is €4.95 per order. Order two or more books and shipping is free.
• You see the total price, including shipping, before you pay.
• We deliver while stocks last. A book that is sold out cannot be ordered.
• The books are in Dutch.

Ordering and payment

• You order through the order form on the site and pay with iDEAL. Payments are processed by Mollie.
• The sale is concluded once your payment has succeeded. You then receive a confirmation by email, with the invoice attached.
• If the payment fails, there is no sale and nothing is shipped.

Signing and delivery

• Maarten signs and ships every book himself. If you added a personal dedication, he writes it in the book by hand.
• Allow about 5 working days for your order to arrive. That is a little longer than an ordinary web shop.
• We ship with PostNL to the address you provide. You receive an email once your order is on its way, with the track & trace when available.
• If your order does not arrive or is damaged, email us within 14 days of the expected delivery date. We will look into it and send a new copy if needed.

Cooling-off period (right of withdrawal)

Without a personal dedication you have 14 days from the day you receive the book to cancel the purchase without giving a reason.

With a personal dedication there is no cooling-off period. Such a book is made especially for you and cannot be resold. The order form tells you this before you order. If you order several books, the cooling-off period applies to the books without a dedication.

How to use the cooling-off period:

1. Within 14 days of receipt, email maarten@beter.nu that you are cancelling the purchase, with your name and order number. You may use the model form below, but you don't have to.
2. Return the book within 14 days of your notice. We will email you the return address. Return shipping costs are yours.
3. You get the purchase price and the standard shipping costs back within 14 days of your notice, via the same payment method. We may wait to refund until we have received the book.

Handle the book with care during the cooling-off period. If it is damaged or clearly used, we may deduct the loss in value.

Complaints

Not happy with something? Email maarten@beter.nu. We reply within 14 days and look for a solution together. Your statutory rights always apply.
